We are very excited to be able to bring you a more interactive and up-to-date way of receiving information about our programs, parks, etc. Aside from an improved look, our new website features many options we hope the residents of Burlington will find useful. Examples of these options are:
- A direct feed to our Facebook page for up to the minute program information.
- Information pertaining to all programs, trips, events.
- A fully downloadable seasonal brochure.
- Online registration.
- Information on all of our administrative staff and facilities.
- We have added a YouTube account to document many of our special events and programs throughout the year!
- We've also added a link to our Photobucket account for easy access to photo's taken during various programs.
- All necessary registration and rental forms can be found on our site.
We hope that you will enjoy the look, feel and most importantly functionality of our new website. Please make sure to check back periodically as we will be updating the main page with feature stories about various programs and recreation happenings.
Don Lorinovich, Director of Parks & Recreation
Don Lorinovich was hired in January, 2009 to be Burlington’s first Director of Parks and Recreation. Don received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in 1974. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of parks and recreation. Prior to arriving in Burlington, Don was the Director of Facilities and Recreation in Montpelier, Vermont for 28 years. Don is a Certified Park and Recreation professional and a professional member of the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association as well as the National Recreation and Park Association.
Kelly Lehman, Program Coordinator
Kelly has worked in the recreation field for 17 years. She received a degree in 2006 from the University of New Hampshire in Recreation Management and Policy with a concentration in Program Administration. Prior to arriving in Burlington, Kelly served as Assistant Recreation Director for the Town of Raymond, NH. Kelly is a professional member of the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association as well as the National Recreation and Park Association
David Grubb, Assistant Program Coordinator
David joined the Burlington Recreation Department in May 2009. Prior to arriving in Burlington, David was the Program Coordinator for the Rindge, NH Recreation Department. David received his degree in 2008 from Fitchburg State College in Professional Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations. Upon completion of his coursework, David interned in the Public Relations Department for the Boston Celtics during the 2008 season. David is a professional member of the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association as well as the National Recreation and Park Association.
Mary Nelson, Program Administrator
Mary Nelson grew up in the town of Burlington and has been working for the Burlington Recreation for 30 years. Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College in Education and a Masters degree in Education from Boston College. Mary and her husband David Nelson have two children, Shane (12) and Christine (10). Mary was a full time teacher for 12 ½ years. Mary has worked in more than 25 programs for the Recreation Department. Mary handles many programs for the Recreation Department but fitness is her first love. She has expanded the fitness program to compete with any private club out there.
